Geary Bush Bio

Hi, thanks for stopping by. I am an amateur photographer living on Long Island, NY. My interest in photography goes back to 1980 when I was a soldier stationed in Bamberg, Germany where I purchased my first SLR camera. It was a Pentex ME Super and served me well for a dozen years . I was using point and shoot cameras for a few years to photograph my children, vacations and the usual family stuff. I missed having a SLR and purchased a used Nikon FA in 1996. Around 2002 I discovered the joy (and frustration) of Nature photography. A year later while surfing on the web I discovered Photo Migrations which led me to Nature and Wildlife Photographers of Long Island (NWPLI) . I attended a meeting and a outing, I liked what I experienced and became a member. Things just grew from there ( my wife would say out of hand). I shoot with Nikon cameras, a D200 is my primary and a D70 as a backup.
